Re: GPS speedometer ap accuracy
I'm not sure if they degrade over time, or if the Datsun speedos were just never very accurate even when new. Although they were kinda sealed up, at their age the seals aren't great and sometimes missing. They definitely crud-up (industry term) even if there aren't critters building nests/laying eg...

Re: Pavillions Car Show, No More?
I do, converted to 134a from the day I got it on the road, and mine is all stock. I have no idea how my stock compressor keeps chugging, but it does. I've gone through a compressor clutch but never the compressor itself. (I got my 260Z in fall 2008, running with a turbo swap in March of 2009) I use ...

Talk to the guys at Automotive Machine of Scottsdale - they know L-series and work on performance engines.

Re: Breakfast Anyone?
I'm in. Might regret not putting A/C closer to the top of the growing list of things to sort out on my Z, but I'm definitely in. Awesome, looking forward to seeing that car on the road. Don't remember, was that a stock A/C car or not? I think the stock A/C system should work really well with a new ...

Re: Sightings - Datsun
That late 280Z belongs to Austin - we had it in the shop this weekend. He lives in Gilbert. It's an Idaho car - that paper tag is the Idaho temp tag, Pretty good shape though, not a bad stock 280Z.
I wonder if he got it through emissions... He picked it up earlier that day (Monday).

Re: Coolant Flush
Here I go with my water rant - cuz journeyman plumber... I dare say that water is THE most caustic solvent on the planet (or devised by man) not only because of it's sheer volume on the planet but it's nasty molecular makeup. It has a HUGE electric affinity and everything that carries an opposite ch...

Re: 240Z questions.
Insulation slows the transfer of heat but in the end everything on the planet strives for stasis. I've always been curious about vapor lock but it's never been a problem in my own Z. Since the carbs are working off a fuel bowl, not directly off the fuel lines (they via the pump just fill the fuel bo...

Re: Coolant Flush
Aluminum radiator or Brass?
My Koyo aluminum came with a HUGE warning - warranty void! - if I used any type of "water wetter" product. Nothing but a mix of coolant and water. My Champion aluminum radiators had no such warning though.
