Engine build help: Do I need to redo...

Got my pistons and rods installed, but realized I used synthetic oil to lightly coat the rings and skirts. Will I be ok, or do I need to take em back out, degrease and redo with conventional or wd40.

I didn't do the recommended dunk in oil method from the "rebuilding a Datsun" book. Read the rings will seal better with a light coat.

Your help is appreciated!

I would not worry about it.

Agree with Carl. If the car sits anytime after the rebuild, you'll be far better off than if you'd used assembly lube, which will get stiff and harden up over time.

When you're ready to fire the engine, I think it's a good idea to pull the spark plugs and crank the engine over a few times to get oil push through the engine first, then install plugs and fire it.
